New senior apartments coming soon

62+ community could open this spring in Georgetown

With construction underway at The Oscar at Georgetown — an apartment community geared toward active older adults — lease applications are now being accepted. The development is anticipated to open in the spring of 2023.

“We’re creating our own community where residents will have anything they need on a daily basis right there at home,” said Sophie Kluthe, director of sales and marketing for the complex.

The Oscar at Georgetown is being constructed on a 10-acre tract of land at 3810 Williams Drive, which was purchased and rezoned for the development in 2019, according to city council meeting minutes. It is being developed by home company Atlas Senior Living, which is a national company specializing in creating apartment-like living opportunities for older adults.

The complex will include 231 apartment units for individuals aged 62 years and older. The community will also have on-site dining options, an indoor saltwater pool, a theater facility, a sports bar, a 24-hour concierge, onsite maintenance teams and other amenities.

Once construction is complete, a majority of space available will be for independent living, while some assisted living and memory care units will be available shortly after the community’s grand opening, Ms. Kluthe said.

While construction is still underway, Ms. Kluthe said the community is taking lease applications from prospective tenants. Incentives including reduced monthly rates, which will range from $3,000 to $4,500 for the first 25 individuals to enter a lease agreement, are currently being offered.

“Included in your rent is housekeeping and maintenance,” she said. “We also provide two meals a day, which will be breakfast every day in our bistro and then the option of lunch or dinner.”

Utilities will also be included. Residents will also be offered discounted plans for internet and cable.
