As one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S., the healthcare industry in Georgetown continues to expand to accommodate more specialized services and give residents the facilities they need to take care of all of their health needs. The four primary care providers in the Georgetown area include Lone Star Circle of Care, Ascension, Baylor Scott & White and St. David’s Hospital Georgetown. These facilities are located all around the Georgetown area and throughout Williamson County.

LONE STAR CIRCLE OF CARE

Lone Star Circle of Care serves those in Georgetown, Round Rock, Hutto and Cedar Park. Services are offered for behavioral care, dental, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics vision and more.

As part of Lone Star Circle of Care’s services, the organization introduced a new and improved Big Pink Bus in February. The Big Pink Bus serves Central Texas with mobile mammography services. These services help to detect early breast cancer through low-cost or free screenings to women regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

Lone Star Circle of Care recently made the decision to use athenaOne as their new provider for electronic health record, revenue cycle management and patient engagement solution.

“Our selection of athenaOne will provide LSCC with a strong technological foundation that will empower our staff and partners, enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes, and allow us to use our resources more effectively as we serve nearly 100,000 of our Texas neighbors annually,” said Jon Calvin, CEO of Lone Star Circle of Care in a press release. “The transition to athenaOne is a critical step in developing the optimal infrastructure to advance value-based care delivery.”

ASCENSION SETON

Ascension Seton opened a special care facility in August in the Wolf Ranch area, providing new services for dermatology, surgery and orthopedics.

They previously had a clinic and urgent care center on West University Avenue in Georgetown. The newest set of services are housed nearby at 1101 Wolf Lakes Drive. In addition to dermatology, surgery and orthopedics, Ascension Medical Group Georgetown will provide services for plastic and hand surgery, cardiovascular care, imaging, gastroenterology, physical medicine and rehabilitation and dermatologic surgery.

BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE

Baylor Scott & White has multiple outpatient and clinic locations in Georgetown and across Williamson County.

Their Georgetown urgent care and clinic facility is located at 1507 Rivery Boulevard. A rehabilitation center is located in Wolf Crossing, and a far west Georgetown facility is located at 7451 West State Highway 29. The Sun City Baylor Scott & White facility expanded to provide more services to its patients.

The clinic added 15,000 square feet of space, updated their facility and added new specialties and providers. Services that were added with the expansion include ophthalmology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, dermatology and integrative medicine. Cardiology and podiatry have also received expanded coverage and a dedicated orthopedic surgeon has been added to the staff.

The Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Round Rock is undergoing a $220 million expansion, increasing the hospital’s local offerings with additional emergency rooms, a new neonatal intensive care unit, an expanded labor and delivery unit, new procedural areas, additional operating suites, and laboratory and pharmacy expansions. Work will continue through 2025.

ST. DAVID’S HOSPITAL

St. David’s recently expanded their facilities in Georgetown and Leander.

In Georgetown, the company added specialized cardiac care. They added a new outpatient cardiovascular imaging center and cardiac catheterization lab to allow for a “higher level of care” according to CEO of St. David’s Georgetown, Kyle Landry.

“The expansion of cardiovascular services at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital will allow us to provide a higher level of specialized cardiac care right here at home for Georgetown residents.”

The cardiac catheterization lab adds cardiac catheter technology to the hospital’s pre-existing interventional radiology suite. This new lab allows physicians to perform minimally invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures to diagnose and remove blockages and open blood vessels. The outpatient imaging center includes three ultrasound rooms designed for ultrasounds and echocardiograms. The new imaging services will give Georgetown residents access to physicians associated with Austin Heart, which will allow for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions.

In Leander, St. David’s is expanding their services from an emergency room to a full hospital. It is expected to be completed in 2025, and this will be the first full-service hospital in Leander.

Additionally, in February, St. David’s Healthcare announced that all of its Austin-area hospitals, including St. David’s Georgetown, received a Healthgrades 2024 America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award.

This award is given to hospitals in recognition for superior performance in providing care conditions and procedures across multiple specialty services.
