September 27, 1939 – April 20, 2024 Arthur J. Dimaline, Jr., age 85, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Round Rock, Texas.  Arthur was born on September 27, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas to Arthur Joseph Dimaline Sr., and Lillian Rey Dimaline.  Arthur was raised in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Converse, Texas as his father was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad.   Most of his youth was spent in San Antonio, where he attended Northeast High School, now Mac Arthur High School.  After high school, he joined the Texas National Guard, and shortly thereafter became a life insurance agent.

Since 1959, Arthur was blessed to have insured many clients across Texas and Oklahoma.   He started his insurance career with Southland Life Insurance Company.  Taken under the wing of Mr. Frank Norwood, Arthur quickly rose within the ranks of Southland Life as a top salesman.  He earned multiple Million Dollar Roundtable awards, and Man of the Year Awards awarded to qualifying life insurance agents who have demonstrated exceptional work ethic and client service.

He then formed Arthur Dimaline and Associates, providing insurance brokerage services for Life, Property and Casualty, and group Health Insurance.  He insured many funeral homes located across Texas and Oklahoma.  The family would like to personally thank so many great Funeral Directors that were not only his clients, but truly became his friends.  Arthur was passionate about the insurance industry—protecting assets and building wealth management for his clients, he never retired.

Arthur worked hard and equally played hard.  Boating, fishing and hunting became his hobbies when he was not working.  He owned a few sport fishing boats over the years, including his beloved 31’ Chris Craft—D-Rail; 41’ Hatteras—Le Cabotin--, and 33’ Concord—No Le Hace.  He was an accomplished boater, and member of the Houston Power Squadron, where he taught navigation, maintenance and boater safety to other members.  He caught the Texas State record Yellowfin Tuna during the Texas International Fishing Tournament out of Port Isable, Texas.  Arthur also caught numerous billfish in the Gulf of Mexico, and Pacific Ocean off Mexico, and Kona, Hawaii.  He looked up to, admired, and developed lifelong friendships with many other accomplished captains and anglers in Port Aransas, Texas.

Equally passionate about hunting, his adventures landed him trophies in South Texas, West Texas, to New Mexico, Colorado, Alaska and Mexico. Whether it was bass fishing on a pond in a pasture, fly fishing a mountain stream in the high country, fishing the flats or the East Breaks far off shore in the Gulf of Mexico, hunting the senderos of South Texas, bird hunting with his many good friends, hunting the meadows of the Continental Divide, or the remote Kamishak River in Katmai National Park in Alaska, Arthur explored it all with a passion.  We are truly blessed to have shared in some of these adventures with him, and will cherish the memories along with many good laughs.  Arthur also enjoyed two stepping across Texas, traveling and cruising with his wife, Susan for over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Joseph Dimaline Sr. and Lillian Rey Dimaline, and sister Reyna Hope Dimaline.  He is survived by his wife, Susan of Georgetown, Texas; children, Leslie Ann Dimaline, Arthur J. Dimaline, IV (Jeannie), David F. Dimaline (Jennifer) all of San Antonio, Texas; and step-daughter, Tria Foster (Manor) of Austin, Texas.  He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Arthur enjoyed attending the Worship Place in Sun City, Texas.  The family would like to sincerely thank the many friends he and Susan have in Sun City, Texas, especially Jan Dobbs and Sunny and Joel Albrecht.   We also want to thank the entire staff, and his nurses at San Gabriel Nursing Home and Traditions Hospice Care for their compassionate and gracious care for Arthur these past couple of years.  A memorial service and party will be scheduled for all friends and family in Port Aransas, Texas at a later date.

A bigger than life Texan, always happy and brought laughter to so many.  He will be missed.
