Eileen “Daisy” Staton, age 91, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on April 13th. Born in Holden, Missouri, Daisy was the daughter of Lewis and Lorene Hunt.

Daisy led a life fueled by a passion for adventure and fun. Her career as a TWA flight attendant took her around the world during an era when air travel was considered glamorous. She had a wealth of stories to share from her time in the skies, regaling listeners with tales of encounters with politicians and movie stars. Daisy’s journey led her from Missouri to California and eventually to the Rio Grande Valley, where she met her beloved husband, Melvin Staton. Together, they settled in Georgetown in 2002.

Known for her warm hospitality and fondness for entertaining, Daisy made friends easily wherever she went. She cherished moments with her four grandchildren, always ensuring their visits were filled with joy and laughter. Her infectious sense of humor and radiant smile will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Amongst her hobbies, Daisy enjoyed golf, bridge and mahjong. She was an active member of the Harlingen Country Club, First Methodist Church Harlingen and First United Methodist Church Georgetown.

Daisy is survived by her devoted husband Melvin Staton; step-children Luanne Hill, Melinda Arbough (Dan), and Chip Staton (Kris); grandchildren Reid Arbough, Trent Arbough, Clay Staton, and Lauren Staton; as well as her brother Herbert Hunt, nephew Chris Hunt, and niece Tracey Hunt from Missouri.

A private family burial will take place in Colleyville, Texas. Honorary pallbearers include Chip Staton, Dan Arbough, Reid Arbough, Clay Staton, Trent Arbough and Lauren Staton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Humane Society or Cure Alzheimer’s Fund are welcomed as gestures of remembrance for Daisy’s compassionate spirit.

May Daisy Staton’s memory continue to brighten the lives of those she touched with her kindness and laughter.
