AAUW awards scholarships to six Georgetown students

These Georgetown ISD students have been awarded the American Association of University Women’s Jesse Daniel Ames scholarships, named after the founder of the Georgetown branch.

This year’s recipients are: 

  • Jazmin Colchado, who will be going to Texas State University for nursing
  • Makayla Johnson, who will attend Louisiana State University for architecture
  • Ariana Suyo, who is going to Texas State University for nursing
  • Clara Brannon, who will attend Blinn Community College for sign language

AAUW’s Georgetown branch has also awarded two scholarships funded through a W.D. Kelley Foundation grant. Recipients are: 

  • Gabby Serrano, who will be going to Texas A&M to study veterinary science
  • Amy Delgado, who will attend the University of Texas at Austin to study chemical engineering
