After marriage, they moved to New Haven, Connecticut, where he attended (and graduated from) the Berkley Divinity School and their first child, Mary Sue, was born in 1957. They then moved to Pinedale, Wyoming, where he served as an ordained Episcopal priest for three years and their second child, Rebecca, was born in 1959.  He spent many years teaching English, French, German, Spanish and philosophy as well as serving as a vicar at small churches near where he lived. In 1993 both he and Mary Bert retired and moved to Georgetown, Texas. His funeral will be on April 20 at 2 p.m. at The First United Methodist Church at 410 East University Avenue in Georgetown.
